Javier and Vicente Ibarra, two brothers from La Piedad Cabadas, Michoacan, Mexico, created Las Palmas.


Las Palmas has evolved into a destination for authentic Mexican cuisine. In 2010, Las Palmas established its first restaurant in Virginia Beach's Brenneman Farm Shopping Center.


Based on the continued success of our original Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant, which served genuine Mexican food to the community and military, a new site was opened at 1009 Lynnhaven Mall Loop, Virginia Beach, VA.


Then, in the summer of 2020, Las Palmas 3 opened at Colonial Drive, marking another milestone in our remarkable success. Followed up by Las Palmas Red Mill, Las Palmas Shore Drive, Las Palmas Atlantic Avenue and now in Richmond, Las Palmas Mexican and Seafood. 


We have an excellent customer relationship and a relaxed family atmosphere. We are honored to be located in Virginia Beach and to have received this distinction. We deliver to your plate the culmination of over 15 years of flavor, expertise, and the tradition of a taste that many consider to be the greatest in Virginia Beach.


Our main success factors are ambience, friendliness, and the real Mexican taste that the neighborhood craves .

"Stopped into Las Palmas on Sunday night for dinner with friends && it was fantastic! The restaurant is clean and inviting and I was immediately greeted with a smile when I walked in the door. It was pretty busy, but we were sat without a wait and had chips and salsa to our table before we even got our coats off.

The menu has a great variety; on both the food and drink side. I chose a House Margarita Frozen as my beverage and it was definitely not lacking in the tequila. Margaritas at a Mexican restaurant are to be expected but the presentation, size and taste made it the best I've had to date.

I was in the mood for familiarity so I went with Arroz con Pollo and it was delicious! The chicken was perfectly seasoned and plentiful and the sauce was to die for. It was a generous plate and I ended up having leftovers for another meal.

Overall it was fantastic! It's located next to a Marshall's and Harris Teeter so if you wanna walk off those chips after, it's perfect. We had a great time and will be going back soon! 10/10 recommend"

The drinks are huge but I do feel like it's more juice than alcohol in them. "A MUST FOR ANYONE IN VIRGINIA BEACH!!

We went during a Friday night and it was packed - and for good reason! The wait can be a bit long (30-ish minutes depending on the party size) but you can always hit up the bar for drinks while you wait. Their margaritas are pretty amazing and a very good size.

The restaurant's size is pretty huge and fills up fast.

When you get seated, you get the complimentary chips and you can get the optional guacamole dip - definitely get it. They have a guacamole dip cart that one of their workers wheels around and makes it fresh right there in front of you.

Got the Tacos Al Pastor and it just melted in my mouth. Perfectly cooked, really tender meat and the salsa that it comes with really compliments it. Comes with a side of rice and beans and it's a good touch.

As far as the environment, it's really vibrant. Good music (thankfully not obnoxiously loud), really good service and it's just really colorful all around.
